Backstabbing the Legion is a horrible idea for those characters, hence why many players never complete this quest. Most characters that kill Rose are evil, which usually aligns with Ceaser's Legion characters. In typical Fallout fashion, the deal goes south, forcing players to fight the Legion.
Assuming you kill her and talk to Gloria, she will ask you to oversee a Ceaser's Legion deal.
That requirement alone makes many players avoid this quest altogether, but it gets even worse. This quest will eventually force you to kill Rose of Sharon Cassidy, one of the game's main companions. What most players miss is the end of this quest. Most avid New Vegas fans know about the Van Graff quest "Birds of a Feather." This quest lets players become a Van Graff, starting as a bodyguard before assisting in more demanding operations.
